    Bratislava defines rules for the placement and appearance of parcel lockers

    Bratislava, 4 July 2025 – The number of parcel lockers has been increasing on the streets of Bratislava in recent years, but not always in suitable places. In some places, they create unnecessary spatial barriers, thus worsening visibility or contributing to visual smog. Therefore, the Capital City Bratislava and the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava have prepared rules for their use, called The Principles and Standards of Parcel lockers.

    A Network of Centres for Refugees and Foreigners – Safe Point – has been established in seven Slovak towns and cities

    Bratislava, 24 June 2025 – The Union of Slovak Towns and Cities (ÚMS) today officially announced the establishment of the Network of Centres for Refugees and Foreigners – Safe Point – in seven Slovak towns and cities. The existing centres are places of support and integration for refugees and people with foreign origin in Slovakia. The main objective of the newly established “Safe Point” Centres Network is to help these centres strengthen mutual cooperation, raise standards and coordinate more effectively. At the same time, the ÚMS draws attention to the necessity to continue with sustainable state funding of the support centres, otherwise they risk not being able to pursue their mission and help those in need.

    Bratislava’s final account – despite its largest investments, the city has its highest surplus

    Bratislava, 19 June 2025 – The final account of the city of Bratislava, which city councillors discussed at today’s final pre-holiday meeting of the city council, shows that thanks to good management, the city achieved the highest current budget surplus in the last four years. It also reduced its debt level, transferred more money into the reserve fund, and sent its historically highest amount into the mobility fund.

    Bratislava Cultural Summer is 50 years old and after years is returning to Partizánska lúka

    Bratislava, 16 June 2025 – Bratislava will have live performances on offer this summer despite the end of the main cultural season. Another year of the Bratislavské kultúrne leto (Bratislava Cultural Summer) is here, with city-wide celebrations of a half-century of this event. The seventy-two-day festival will be framed by the performances of large orchestras taking a musical look back at years long past in their original locations. The festival will begin, as is tradition, on 21 June and will close with a grand finale on the last weekend of August.

    We’re opening Bratislava’s summer swimming pools

    Bratislava, 10 June 2025 – Bratislava’s summer swimming pools are gradually being filled with water these days, and preparations for the summer season are in full swing. Visitors to the city’s swimming pools managed by STaRZ can look forward to a refreshing summer with advantageous online tickets and season tickets that save both time and money. What’s more, all-season season tickets are valid not only at all eight city swimming pools but can also be used to enter the Pasienky City Swimming Pool, which remains open during the summer. Another new item at the swimming pools is the discounted online entrance fee for children.

    Bratislava City Hall announces an additional investment in public transport: The city is starting the construction of a new tram line

    Bratislava, 5 June 2025 – The capital city today signed a contract with a contractor for the construction of the new Patrónka – Riviéra trolleybus line. Field work on its implementation will start in the coming weeks. The new trolleybus line is another major investment by the Bratislava administration into the development of sustainable public transport in the capital city. As a result, the people of Bratislava will gain an additional 3.5 kilometres of new, healthier, ecological, electric transport and, in particular, a direct trolleybus connection from Dlhé diely in Karlova Ves to Trnavské mýto.
